Examination Regulations:

These regulations apply to all undergraduate students in the programmes currently offered by the university. There may be exceptional cases for some students who have special circumstances requiring consideration; in that case the matter is referred to Examinations to review the case and treat it as appropriate.

University examinations are held in two sessions:

A. The first session: held in two stages, one at the end of the first academic term and the other at the end of the second academic term. In each stage the examination covers half of the prescribed syllabus for each course. The first-term examination is marked out of 35, and the second-term examination out of 35. The other academic activities (coursework) assigned by the instructor are 30 marks: 15 marks at the end of the first term, and 15 marks at the end of the second term.

  1. The highest mark in the examination for each course is 100, and the lowest mark is 50 in each of the first and second sessions.

B. The second session: the examination is held on the full prescribed syllabus and is marked out of 100, but the student is not awarded more than the minimum pass mark (50).
