Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and companions, and those who follow him from this world till the next:

       Based on a sense of the importance of science and its necessity for the life of humanity, on which their happiness depends in the here and now, those in charge of Ihsan Charitable Foundation for Education and Development sought to establish the first Islamic University in The Gambia, which is a private university established in cooperation with some individuals, and has an official licence from the government.

It is our great hope that this university will be a beacon of science and knowledge that will illuminate Africa with the light of knowledge and produce scholars and leaders who will undertake the task of advancing the nation in the Islamic, humanitarian and technical sciences and in all the useful arts of knowledge, and this is not difficult for Allah.

    In its endeavour to achieve these great goals, the university welcomes all those who support it financially and morally in order to fulfil its mission to the fullest.
